Rise and Align

Richard Parker

Wake up the body and heart/mind with a slow, breath to movement flow. This gentle/moderate class (you choose the intensity) is designed with the foundational poses that make up a well-rounded asana practice. Focus is placed on safe and effective alignment, emphasizing what feels right for each individual rather than striving for an idealized version of poses. Each class addresses balance, core strength, the six motions of the spine, and all major muscles groups. The final 10 minutes are devoted to meditation/savasana, with a wide variety of meditation techniques offered over time. Pranayama (conscious awareness of breath) will also be included.

This is a good class for those with years of experience, as well as those new to asana and Yoga. The ultimate aim of Yoga goes way beyond the body and asanas. Come five minutes before start time for specific insight and discussion into the full Yoga practice, as envisioned by both ancient and modern teachers.

This is a donation class where all proceeds (after rent) will go to environmental non-profits.

Foundations of Yoga

Jodi Sargent

***Starting October 1st and continuing through March, this class switches to a 75-minute format, 5:30pm-6:45pm. Our hope with this format is to keep the usual strength building sequences, but add more time to cultivate stillness and release. A perfect antidote to our busy lives, and a compliment to the colder, quieter winter months.***

Slow Flow + Technique + Release: This class is year-round, drop-in, and open to all levels. It is suitable for new students who want  a solid foundation, and for seasoned yogis who want to maintain depth. Options are offered for those with different experience levels. Expect flowing sequences and held postures, alignment technique and a good dose of release.

Yin/Yang Yoga

Andrea Lepcio

This practice will lead us to feeling more at home in our bodies, allowing our energy to flow freely to all channels, feeling harmony, strength, and flexibility. The yin portion of class is gentle, supportive and meditative. All poses are on the floor to allow our muscles to relax and deep connective tissues to gently stretch through conscious breathing (pranayama). Poses are held for a longer period of time (generally 3-5 minutes) as we relax into the edge of the pose, allow our qi (energy) to flow and expand our awareness of our body.  The yang portion allows us to integrate this awareness into a sense of alignment and stability with a vinyasa flow. Through a combination of floor, standing, and balance poses, we build on the increased range of motion initiated with the yin poses. This class is suitable for all levels.

Yoga Elixir

Jodi Sargent

This seasonal offering taught by Jodi Sargent will utilize techniques to manipulate muscle and fascia (connective tissue) to release tension in the body, and deepen the breath. Expect to use a variety of props including tennis balls and switch between shorter and longer held postures during this 60-minute class. The practice is intended to help release areas commonly tight, restore some range of motion, invite observation and body awareness, and allow time to simply be. All practices rely on the breath as a profound tool to “turn on” our parasympathetic nervous system to do what it was designed for --- aid our ability to rest, digest, and recover.

All props (including a yoga mat) are provided and beginners welcome. Please notify Jodi in advance with any acute injuries.

Gentle Yoga

Kate Stitham

This Gentle Yoga class uses classic asanas (though not a particular set or routine), pranayama (breathwork), development of a quiet mind, and the practice of relaxation. Emphasizing compassionate self-acceptance, mindfulness, and listening to one’s own body wisdom promotes deeper levels of self-awareness.

This class offers a welcoming environment for anyone who would appreciate a gentle, supportive practice.  Opportunities to deepen poses or add intensity always exist in this class.  All levels of ability are welcome.

Dynamic Vinyasa Flow

Emily Wright

In this intermediate level flow class we will build heat from the inside out using breath and postures to cultivate a deeper connection within so that we can take what we learn in our practice off of our mats and into the world. Working to build flexibility strength and balance we will flow through creative sequences that both nourish and challenge us while most importantly having fun!

Have you been wanting to try TRX?  This a great class to learn the basics.  Instead of exercise machines or hand held weights, TRX uses your own body weight and gravity to perform a particular exercise. YOU hold the power! Suspension training works multiple muscles and joints simultaneously.  This is a low impact class perfect for beginners.

Maija Leyendecker

TRX training utilizes your body weight and gravity to complete hundreds of exercises using just ONE piece of equipment.

In this class we will incorporate a High intensity Interval Training (HIIT) technique called tabata intervals to supercharge your TRX Suspension Training workout. The basic HIIT technique is to alternate periods of extremely high intensity exercise with short rest periods for a specified number of sets.  This class is available to all fitness levels.  Please let the instructor know of any modifications needed due to injury or lack of range of motion.
